Christopher Moynihan, 34, was arrested in Clinton, NY, on Sunday after he allegedly made threats to kill a member of Congress, New York State police stated.
He was charged with making a terroristic menace and ordered held on $10,000 bail at his arraignment in Clinton courtroom.
Throughout his arraignment on Monday, it was revealed he’s accused of threatening to kill Home Minority Chief Hakeem Jeffries.
In textual content messages, he stated he deliberate to “eliminate” Jeffries at an occasion in Manhattan on Monday, prosecutors stated.

“Hakeem Jeffries makes a speech in a few days in NYC I cannot allow this terrorist to live,” Moynihan allegedly wrote in his texts.
Moynihan was one of many first rioters to breach the barricades on Jan. 6, 2021, and enter the Capitol. He was discovered responsible in August 2022 of obstruction of an official continuing and pleaded responsible to 5 misdemeanors and sentenced to 21 months in jail.
However he was pardoned by President Trump together with 1,500 others convicted for the riot as soon as Trump returned to the White Home in January.
