The proprietor of a Queens cellphone retailer making an attempt to fend off two armed robbers was shot in each legs earlier than his assailants fled on a scooter, police mentioned.

Kunwarjee Singh, 40, was conserving store at High-in-City Wi-fi on Steinway St. close to thirty fourth Ave. in Astoria when the gunmen barged in round 6:45 p.m. Friday, cops mentioned.

Singh put up a battle and the robbers shot him in each legs earlier than grabbing his Rolex watch and escaping on a scooter.

After the gunmen fled, Singh known as his brother to inform him what occurred.

“He called me and said, ‘There were two of them. I got shot,’  and then the phone hung up,” mentioned 48-year-old Gurpreet Singh. “My brother is a very tough guy. We deal with a lot of crazy people. My brother is not the sort of person to give in easily, he doesn’t let people rob him.”

Medics rushed the sufferer to Elmhurst Basic Hospital in steady situation.

“His wife is at the hospital and said he’s in surgery right now,” the sufferer’s brother mentioned. “We were supposed to go to dinner together. It’s my son’s 13th birthday.”
