ISTANBUL (AP) — An explosion at an ammunition manufacturing unit in northwest Turkey left 11 lifeless and 5 injured Tuesday morning.
The blast occurred in Balikesir province, based on the state-run Anadolu Company. The manufacturing unit is in a rural space away from inhabitants facilities.
Balikesir Governor Ismail Ustaoglu stated the explosion collapsed the capsule manufacturing constructing and the encircling buildings had minor harm. “The explosion was due to a technical issue. There is no possibility of sabotage,” he added.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc wrote on social media platform X that public prosecutors have been assigned to research the trigger.
