A New York State Police trooper whose alleged taking pictures sparked a manhunt for a fleeing suspect final fall turned himself in on Monday on fees that embrace falsely reporting against the law.

The workplace of District Legal professional Anne Donnelly stated a briefing was scheduled early Monday afternoon would reveal extra details about the case.

Mascia, 27, has been below scrutiny since claiming in October that he had been shot within the leg by a suspect on Lengthy Island’s Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead. Mascia had instructed investigators that he’d stopped to assist an apparently stranded motorist, who then opened fireplace.

The alleged incident sparked a manhunt and generated $15,000 in supplied reward cash.
