S.C. cops say Nancy Mace rape claims have been open case since 2023

The South Carolina Regulation Enforcement Division confirmed Tuesday that it had been investigating accusations levied on the Home ground by Rep. Nancy Mace since December 2023.

The South Carolina Republican consultant in an hour-long speech Monday evening accused her former fiancé, Patrick Bryant, of drugging, raping and filming her and different girls, aided by three “business partners,” as found in a video she had stumbled upon in November 2023 that “shocked me to my core.”

The movies, filmed with out consent, confirmed Mace and a dozen or extra different girls in sexually compromising conditions, the congresswoman mentioned. Furthermore, she alleged, Bryant had assaulted her when she confronted him concerning the movies.

“This active and ongoing investigation is complex and has involved multiple lawyers,” the division mentioned. “Once the investigation is completed, it will be sent to a prosecutor for review.”

Bryant mentioned the accusations have been unfaithful.

“I categorically deny these allegations,” Bryant mentioned in an announcement. “I take this matter seriously and will cooperate fully with any necessary legal processes to clear my name.”

Mace then went on to accuse her potential gubernatorial opponent within the subsequent election, Democratic state Lawyer Normal Alan Wilson, of failing to indict anybody regardless of “clear, cut-and-dry evidence” together with video, photographs and witnesses, and mentioned he has as an alternative induced “deliberate delays” within the investigation.

Wilson’s workplace referred to as Mace’s implications “blatantly false and politically motivated.”
