“I am overwhelmed by — and grateful for — everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support,” Mangione stated. “Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial and even class divisions, as mail has flooded MDC [the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn] from across the country, and around the globe.”

“While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive,” he continued. “Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write. I look forward to hearing more in the future.”

In a separate assertion on LuigiMangioneInfo.com, his attorneys stated they launched the brand new web site “due to the extraordinary volume of inquiries and outpouring of support” for his or her consumer. They stated they plan to supply solutions to regularly requested questions and dispel misinformation, including their intent is to “share factual information regarding the unprecedented, multiple prosecutions” in opposition to Mangione.

The 26-year-old Ivy League graduate is dealing with a number of felony prices in New York, Pennsylvania and federal courtroom in reference to Thompson’s homicide. The CEO was gunned down in Midtown Manhattan on the morning of Dec. 4 in what authorities known as a “premeditated, preplanned, targeted attack.”

Thompson had been visiting the town from Minnesota for an investor convention sponsored by UnitedHealthcare at The Residences by Hilton Membership, the place he was slated to offer a speech later within the day.

Police stated Thompson was strolling from his lodge towards the venue on W. 54th St. close to Sixth Ave., when he was ambushed by a masked gunman round 6:45 a.m. The daddy of two was fatally struck within the assault and pronounced useless some half-hour later.

After a days-long manhunt, Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Atloona, Pa. He was allegedly discovered with a silencer and 3D-printed gun, which police stated matched three shell casings discovered on the homicide scene.

The ammo had been marked with the phrases “delay,” “deny” and “depose” — referencing a phrase typically used to explain the insurance coverage business’s ways for delaying claims and maximizing income.

On Monday, organizers of the December 4 Authorized Committee fundraiser introduced that Mangione’s authorized workforce had agreed to just accept the donations which have been pouring to assist pay for his protection.

Mangione “very much appreciates the outpouring of support,” lead legal professional Karen Friedman Agnifilo instructed the committee.

The GiveSendGo fundraiser, named for the date of Thompson’s dying, had raised over $434,000 as of Saturday afternoon.
