A former College of Michigan soccer coach has been charged for allegedly hacking feminine athletes’ accounts to steal images.

Weiss, 42, was charged with 14 counts of unauthorized laptop entry and 10 counts of id theft after purportedly hacking 1000’s of accounts to obtain intimate images and movies, in line with an indictment filed in federal courtroom Thursday.

Between 2015 and 2023, Weiss gained entry to the databases of greater than 100 schools and universities that have been being maintained by a third-party vendor, after which downloaded private info and medical knowledge of greater than 150,000 athletes, the indictment states.

“Weiss primarily targeted female college athletes,” the indictment mentioned. “He researched and targeted these women based on their school affiliation, athletic history and physical characteristics. His goal was to obtain private photographs and videos never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners.”

Among the accounts have been hacked a number of occasions.
