WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump mentioned Monday he can be inserting a 25% tariff on all imports from any nation that buys oil or gasoline from Venezuela in addition to imposing new tariffs on the South American nation itself.

In a Reality Social submit, Trump mentioned Venezuela has been “very hostile” to the U.S. and international locations buying oil from it will likely be compelled to pay the tariff on all their commerce to the U.S. beginning April 2.

Venezuela will face a “Secondary” tariff as a result of it’s the residence to the gang Tren de Aragua, he mentioned. The Trump administration is deporting immigrants that it claims are members of that gang who illegally crossed into america.

Trump mentioned his social media submit would function notification of this coverage to the Division of Homeland Safety and different regulation enforcement businesses.
