FanSided’s Robert Murray first reported the pact. The one-year deal pays Yarbrough $2 million, and he can earn one other $500,000 by way of incentives, per ESPN’s Jorge Castillo.

Yarbrough, 33, had his launch granted by the Blue Jays on Sunday after opting out of his minor league take care of the membership. He posted a 4.05 ERA over 6.2 innings for Toronto this spring.

A left-hander, Yarbrough will presumably present size within the Yankees’ bullpen, which may come in useful with the workforce leaning on Will Warren and Carlos Carrasco in its injury-ravaged, season-opening rotation.

Previous to Yarbrough’s arrival, the Yankees had three open bullpen spots. Proper-handers Yoendrys Gómez and Yerry De Los Santos and southpaw Brent Headrick have been the inner candidates for these openings. Yarbrough’s signing may take Headrick out of the operating since they throw from the identical facet; the Yankees have one other lefty, Tim Hill, locked into their pen.
