A 52-year-old man died after being hit by a van whereas he was crossing the road within the Bronx, police stated Friday.

Inza Fofana was crossing the road at E. 149th St. and Morris Ave. in Mott Haven round 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when a 48-year-old man driving a 2019 Ford Transit van west on E.149th St. struck Fofana as the motive force tried to make a left flip onto Morris Ave., in response to police.

EMS transported Fofana to Lincoln Hospital in vital situation, the place he later died, cops stated. Fofana lived in higher Manhattan.

The driving force stayed on the scene, in response to police. There was no arrest and the investigation is ongoing.

The kind of van — whether or not it was getting used to move passengers or cargo — wasn’t instantly clear.
