Man arrested for slashing face of feminine MTA subway conductor in Bronx

Police arrested a Bronx man Thursday for slashing an MTA conductor throughout a brazen assault in Foxhurst earlier this week, cops mentioned.

Isiah Thompson, 29, faces seven counts of assault, menacing and weapons possession in reference to the assault.

Police mentioned Thompson was recognized from a wished poster and brought into custody by the NYPD Warrants Squad Thursday morning.

Cops say Thompson approached a 36-year-old No. 6 subway conductor whereas she was making bulletins aboard a prepare on the Whitlock Ave. station Tuesday afternoon.

In keeping with police, the person requested, “Who the f— are you to tell me what to do?” earlier than slashing the transit employee’s face.

John Chiarello, president of the Transport Employees Union Native 100, mentioned the conductor — who has been on the job lower than two years — was lower slightly below her left eye.

Safety cameras on the station captured a picture of the assailant sporting a black coat, khaki pants and a backpack.

“I take this personally,” NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow — himself a former transit employee — mentioned Wednesday whereas holding up an NYPD wished poster. “It is a cowardly act to attack one of our employees.”

“We have cameras in all of our cars,” Crichlow mentioned. “We have cameras in all of our stations.”

“I’m thankful to the NYPD for apprehending [a suspect] quickly,” he mentioned.

Requested how the injured conductor was doing, the union boss mentioned, “She’s in good spirits, amazingly.”

Thompson was anticipated to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
