A high FBI official who resisted President Trump’s purge of brokers who participated in investigations of the Jan. 6 assault has reportedly been ousted.

Brian Driscoll, a veteran agent who served as performing director of the FBI within the first weeks of the Trump administration, has been pressured out of the bureau with Friday being his final day on the job, two individuals aware of the scenario informed The Related Press.

Driscoll made headlines in late January when he resisted calls for from the incoming Trump administration for details about FBI brokers who participated in investigations into the 2021 assault on the Capitol by hundreds of Trump supporters.

Emil Bove, Trump’s onetime private lawyer who was then serving as a senior Justice Division official, wrote a memo on the time accusing Driscoll and different high FBI officers of “insubordination.”
