Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union, New York Civil Liberties Union, Make the Street New York and the regulation agency Wang Hecker LLP, who’re representing the detainees, celebrated the order as a serious victory for immigrants’ rights, saying it imposed fundamental accountability on ICE at a time when migrants throughout the nation are being denied constitutional protections each day.
