Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is mocking rival Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene over the Republican lawmaker’s new put up working alongside the newly created budget-slashing Division of Authorities Effectivity, or DOGE.

The progressive Bronx/Queens lawmaker says her GOP counterpart from Georgia is just not able to do the onerous work wanted to search out huge value financial savings within the federal price range.

“She barely shows up and doesn’t do the reading,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “It’s like giving someone an unplugged controller.”

Ocasio-Cortez predicted incoming DOGE bosses Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will discover out the onerous manner that Greene lacks the wanted legislative chops to assist them get stuff executed on Capitol Hill.

“Absolutely dying at those two now getting assigned the ‘privilege’ of ‘working’ with MTG,” she wrote. “That is actually hilarious. Enjoy, fellas!”

Greene has been tapped by Rep. James Comer, the GOP chair of the oversight committee, to steer a subcommittee to work with DOGE within the coming Congress.

The firebrand MAGA lawmaker vowed to make use of the brand new put up to root out waste within the federal paperwork.

“We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption and absolutely useless parts of our federal government,” Greene mentioned in an announcement. “Our subcommittee’s work will expose people who need to be FIRED.”

Greene’s appointment displays an obvious dramatic enchancment in her relationship with Home Speaker Mike Johnson. She sniped at Johnson in current months and accused him of working with Democrats to keep away from authorities shutdowns and funding Ukraine’s effort to defend itself in opposition to the Russian invasion.

The pair seem to have buried the hatchet since their mutual ally President-elect Trump received a recent four-year time period in workplace.

Musk and Ramaswamy have been appointed to steer DOGE, a brand new group that has no formal energy over the federal price range.

It’s unclear how DOGE will operate and the way its proposed actions would translate into precise price range cuts, which legally have to be accredited by Congress.

Musk, the world’s richest man, has mentioned he hopes to chop a couple of third of the federal price range, a surprising objective that could possibly be politically harmful for Trump.
