A CDC advisory panel voted Thursday to restrict the provision of a mixed shot for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella, the virus that causes rooster pox for youngsters.

The panel additionally delayed a vote on the new child hepatitis B shot till Friday.

The 12-person Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices was chosen by Well being Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., who has expressed skepticism in regards to the efficacy of vaccines.

The panel voted 8-3 with one abstention to suggest towards giving the MMRV vaccine to youngsters earlier than the age of 4 over potential seizure considerations. As a substitute, the panel stated MMR and chickenpox pictures must be given individually.
