Historian and curator Kim Sajet, who not too long ago left her longtime submit as director on the Nationwide Portrait Gallery (NPG) after President Donald Trump claimed he had fired her, would be the subsequent director of the Milwaukee Artwork Museum (MAM), the establishment introduced yesterday, September 3.

In an announcement from the museum, Sajet expressed enthusiasm for the MAM’s “culturally vibrant and refreshingly authentic” character, in addition to its historical past of experimental amassing and exhibition. Her appointment coincides with the museum’s fiftieth anniversary of the Bradley Assortment of Trendy Artwork, a present of almost 400 fashionable items together with works by Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, and Mark Rothko which will probably be commemorated with a tribute exhibition opening on the finish of this month.
