Greg Gumbel, the legendary CBS broadcaster, died on Friday.

He was 78.

Gumbel’s household revealed in a press release to CBS that he died following a battle with most cancers.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband and father, Greg Gumbel,” the household mentioned within the assertion.” He handed away peacefully surrounded by a lot love after a brave battle with most cancers.  Greg approached his sickness like one would count on he would, with stoicism, grace, and positivity.”
