The Giants may have their fifth working backs coach in 5 years in 2025 and their fourth in 4 years beneath Brian Daboll.

Joel Thomas is leaving Daboll’s teaching employees after just one season to return to the New Orleans Saints, the place he spent almost a decade from 2015-23 previous to his one season in New York, per NFL Community.

He’s returning to New Orleans in a lateral transfer to educate the Saints’ working backs once more, per NewOrleans.Soccer’s Nick Underhill. So it is a greener pasture to do the identical job he was doing with the Giants.

Thomas, 50, turns into the third working again coach in three years to depart Daboll’s employees voluntarily after just one season with the group.

DeAndre Smith left after the 2022 season for a lateral transfer to the Indianapolis Colts. Jeff Nixon left after the 2023 season for the Syracuse offensive coordinator job throughout an offseason that marked an exodus of quite a few staffers from the Giants’ sinking ship.
