A Lengthy Island rubbish truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday.

“Xavier Angulo Espinoza was driving a garbage truck eastbound on Sunrise Highway Service Road, near Southern State Parkway, when he lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn at 11:48 a.m.,” the Suffolk County Police Division introduced in an announcement.

The 45-year-old sufferer, who’s from Central Islip, crashed the car in East Islip on a service Street close to Southern State Parkway. He died on the scene.

Police stated a passenger within the truck was airlifted to Stony Brook College Hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.

The rubbish truck was impounded for a security verify. Investigators are asking anybody with details about the deadly crash to return ahead. Video posted to native media present flames and thick smoke jutting from the capsized car.
