Netflix and iHeartMedia announce video podcast deal

Netflix and iHeartMedia introduced Tuesday they’ve an unique video partnership deal to deliver greater than 15 unique podcasts, together with “The Breakfast Club,” true crime podcast “My Favorite Murder” and Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” to the subscription streaming service.

The multiyear deal, which launches in early 2026, consists of new episodes from the podcasts and a few library episodes. The video podcasts will first roll out on Netflix within the U.S. and later to different markets. Netflix and iHeart declined to reveal the monetary phrases of the deal.

The announcement comes as Netflix is including extra video podcasts to its lineup to diversify the content material on its streaming service and higher compete with YouTube. A few of the iHeart podcasts concerned within the deal, together with “My Favorite Murder,” have posted movies of their podcasts on Google’s video platform previous to the deal’s announcement.

Different video podcasts coming to Netflix embody comedy podcast “This is Important,” psychological well being podcast “The Psychology of your 20s” and historical past podcast “Behind the Bastards.”

iHeart will preserve its audio-only rights and distribution as a part of the deal, with its podcasts persevering with to be on iHeartRadio and “everywhere podcasts are heard,” the businesses mentioned.
