Newark airport unexpectedly shut down

All flights out of Newark Airport gave the impression to be cancelled or extraordinarily delayed on Sunday, successfully shutting down the airport for hours.

The delays had been brought on by thunderstorms, in line with the Federal Aviation Administration, however the day was sunny with clear skies into the night.
