A yellow taxi van jumped the curb and slammed right into a crowd of pedestrians strolling close to Macy’s on W. thirty fourth St. and Sixth Ave. on Wednesday afternoon, NYPD officers stated.

Six folks had been struck by the taxi being operated by a 58-year-old driver touring north on Sixth Ave. close to W. thirty fourth St., the place he barreled onto the busy sidewalk throughout the road from Macy’s flagship retailer at 4:03 p.m., police stated.

Among the many victims was a 9-year-old boy, cops stated. Additionally struck had been two ladies, each 49, and three different females ages 19, 37, and 41.

The 41-year-old lady was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a head harm. The taxi driver was dropped at Weill Cornell Medical Heart with a laceration to his leg.

Each had been in secure situation, police stated.

It was not instantly clear what prompted the cab to lose management. Cops stated the incident was nonetheless underneath investigation.
