WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump mentioned Tuesday that he he received’t name Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz after the focused shootings of two state lawmakers as a result of it will “waste time.”
One of many lawmakers and her husband had been killed.
The Republican president spoke to reporters early Tuesday aboard Air Drive One as he flew again to Washington after abruptly leaving a global summit in Canada due to rising tensions within the Center East between Israel and Iran. Requested if he deliberate to name Walz, Trump mentioned the Democratic governor is “slick” and “whacked out” and mentioned, “I’m not calling him.”
Presidents typically attain out to different elected officers at instances of tragedy to supply condolences.
Trump added, “The guy doesn’t have a clue. He’s a mess. So, you know, I could be nice and call him, but why waste time?”
Walz was the vice presidential working mate for 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, who misplaced her presidential bid to Trump. Throughout the marketing campaign, Walz typically branded Trump and different Republican politicians as “just weird.”
