US’ Paul Tazewell first Black man to win Oscar for Costume Design

Tazewell’s historic win follows within the footsteps of Ruth E Carter, the primary Black individual to win the Greatest Costume Design Oscar for Black Panther in 2018. She gained once more for Black Panther: Wakanda Endlessly in 2022.

This 12 months’s Greatest Costume Design nominees included Arianne Phillips for A Full Unknown; Janty Yates and David Crossman for Gladiator II; Lisy Christl for Conclave; and Linda Muir for Nosferatu.
