A 23-year-veteran paramedic and former Marine died within the line of responsibility yesterday after ending a shift on the FDNY Coaching Academy at Randalls Island, Hearth Commissioner Robert Tucker introduced on Thursday.
“The FDNY is mourning the loss of Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman, a dedicated Paramedic who served the people of New York for more than two decades,” Tucker mentioned in an announcement. “He touched the lives of so many EMTs and Paramedics, and the many whose lives he saved. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and his three young children, and his family and friends.”
Salih Abdur Rahman, 46, turned a member of the FDNY in 2002 when he was 23. He was assigned to Station 8 in Kips Bay in Manhattan at first of his profession, earlier than shifting to Station 16 in Harlem after which Station 13 in Washington Heights, the place he labored for 9 years.
