Vincent Valdez bears witness to the world round him, chronicling America on the margins. Only a Dream… at MASS MoCA is the artist’s first main museum survey, together with work from over 20 years throughout all media. This exhibition addresses present US politics and goals to cement Valdez as one of the vital essential American painters working at present — imaging his nation, its folks, politics, satisfaction, and foibles.
Vincent Valdez: Only a Dream… spans over twenty years of the artist’s work, from early profession drawings to present allegorical portraits.
