The Yankees are buying and selling for one more hitter.
The workforce is buying Austin Slater from the White Sox, based on a number of experiences. The YES Community’s Jack Curry first reported the deal, including that pitching prospect Gage Ziehl goes to Chicago.
A nine-year veteran, Slater has performed all three outfield spots, in addition to some first base in his profession. The 32-year-old has a .721 OPS general this season, however an .859 OPS towards lefties. All 5 of his house runs are towards southpaws.
With the Yankees having already acquired one other weapon towards lefties within the righty-swinging Amed Rosario, Slater provides the Yankees some depth and suppleness of their outfield. He may share time with Jasson Domínguez in left subject or play proper whereas Aaron Choose is on the injured listing/DH’ing towards lefties when he returns.
