Luis Gil is making progress on the hill.

The Yankees starter threw a reside bullpen session earlier than Saturday afternoon’s sport within the Bronx, marking his first time going through hitters since he suffered a high-grade lat pressure throughout spring coaching.

On Saturday, Gil stated he was “very eager” to return.

“From the moment you go through an injury like this, immediately you want to get back on the field,” Gil stated. “It’s about competing, helping your team and being out there with those guys.”

Gil missed many of the 2022 and 2023 seasons as a result of Tommy John surgical procedure.

His return would additional bolster a Yankees rotation that’s obtained sturdy seasons from Max Fried, Carlos Rodón, Clarke Schmidt and others however that misplaced ace Gerrit Cole to season-ending elbow surgical procedure.
