A number of individuals have been faraway from Rep. Mike Lawler’s city corridor in Westchester County in the course of the chaotic assembly on Sunday night time.

Lawler, a self-styled average Republican and potential candidate for governor, spoke to about 600 constituents in Somers. It was the second in a deliberate sequence of city halls hosted by the Republican consultant for New York’s seventeenth District.

“This is what democracy looks like,” Lawler stated originally of the occasion, which was met by groans from the viewers.

Lawler confronted boos, jeers and groans all through the contentious night time, as he tried to defend President Trump’s insurance policies in a average district.

At one other city corridor final week in Rockland County, Lawler clashed with residents who criticized his assist for a Republican funds that can probably drive deep cuts to Medicaid.

Lawler’s district was one in all three nationwide that elected a Republican consultant regardless of preferring Kamala Harris to Trump within the November election. Democrats take into account the district a key goal within the 2026 elections.
